So this is my second country song for the year. It's been especially fun to have worked on it with Becky! Clearly, the harmonies she wrote totally make it. It's nice to be singing regularly again, too, which I hadn't been doing until we started getting together. I really feel like country music has always been the genre for me but I didn't realize it until a few months ago. We're having a ball and are always working on new tunes. More to come! -<p>omg. this song is so freaking sweet. i love how none of the song sections start on A except for the chorus. starting the verse on the E is brilliant, and the pre-chorus sounds like it might be the chorus, but then, its not! flawless... and i think you can do something with the solo section... instead of repeating the verse progression what if you modulate quickly, it'll be really really quick, but just enough time for the song to freshen up a little. almost like a super short bridge. i hear from the A quickly chromatically down to Gflat major. A, Aflat, G, Gflat: ba ba ba ba. And then Gflat major to Cflat major to Emajor to E7 or maybe something racier, and then into the D when the vocal come in.
