 the "lean on the wind" line is also from a greenspan quote. anyway, i thought it was very interesting that a guy could sit in front of congress and say that after 40 years he may have been completely wrong about his world view. pretty wild. i wrote the chord and melody this morning. the verse came first, then the chorus, and then the bridge. i recorded two strumming guitar parts, one with a capo. i also put down another track of acoustic guitar on the chorus and put it through some crazy processor so it sounds all bizarre. i messed around with some beats, a buzzy synth bass and threw some bells on the chorus. i think the 2nd and 3rd verses could be better, and the song sounds pretty frantic, at this tempo its only 1:20, and it goes through 3 verses, 4 choruses, and a bridge. not sure that's the best way to play it. i'll see how it sounds in the morning. i've been hoping to write more songs about the economy to go with the accountants one.
