== Author's Notes ==
This is the nastiest, bitterest song I've ever written. I tried to make it pretty anyway.

When I write these jazzy types of songs, I often go off on a harmonic tangent on the bridge, and then can't find my way back to the home key effectively. I feel like the transition back into the A section here is a little forced, but I think if I change the melody at the end of the bridge, I can make it lead back into the A section more smoothly.

−	~~my mind~~. it's ~~blown~~. ~~````~~	+	this song destroys me. it's almost painful to listen to, and i almost feel bad for liking it so much since you sound so sad. you sound like you could cry singing it, which is not a bad thing. the resignation and sadness in your voice while singing such straightforward but poetic words is very powerful. it's amazing how angry it is. you've nailed the jazzy songwriter style head-on. (i want to get the arranged-for-piano version to slip into a score book between a couple of gershwin tunes.) the distorted drums and that droning bassy part update it a little and give it an angry edge. i think i told you i felt the bridge was too many unexpected moves, but i was wrong. i think it works well, and the part going back into A is good. it works very well. i do feel like the instrumentation under that part should change more, maybe to crescendo a little into the lines about love "located on the premises, what were the odds of that?" and then a bit of a pause before going back into the next part.<br>
