Send All Night on the Internet - MP3

Lyrics

These are all just "test" lyrics while trying to figure out a melody

Verse

(Sam Lavigne lyrics - I think. These are just best guesses)
The last bottle's broke,
Vitreous or not.
My distpositive (dah dah dah)
Hasn't a home.

Different verses for 761 Oak concert (relating to Sam's experience as a security guard)

Verse 1

Your safety's assured;
I answer the phone and watch the door.
I'm watching the screens,
You're watching a show star-ring Taye Diggs

You promise computers
You give me an oven
And speak of your pistol

No you can't return;
And I won't go meet you somewhere dark.

Verse 2

If some-thing happens
(...)
I'll just call the cops

I'm un-armed
I've got...
Not even a night stick

I'm just doing home work
I'm reading some theory
I'm can't help you, buddy

There's no a-larm, I'm the...
Only one here.

Chorus

I like black and you like black
And we're gonna go to
My concert I'm playing to-ni-ight

Anna will sit and read a book
While she drinks her cran-ber-y vod-ka with Sarah Da-vor-ki-i-in!
We will sit behind the bands
And we'll hold hands as we
Com-plain a'bout how late the night i-is!
And we go home,
I'LL SPEND ALL NIGHT ON THE INTERNET!

Music

Chords

Verse: E7, Am7, [some Cm variant],C

Chorus: Ab, G, C, B, Bb

Author's Notes

Another old unfinished Para-chestnut. Lots of angst about a melody, and Sam's once-again-completely-a-rhythmic lyrics really didn't help. I was in a counterpoint class at the time, and wrote out the verse melody in a sheetmusic/MIDI program first (it performs the piano line). As for chorus, I had totally forgotten about it! Almost certainly because I was apparently drunk and bitter at the wife/world or whatever. In hindsight, I really like it because it just sounds like some idiot singing along to something. And really, nothing works better with that kind of melody than such ridiculous lyrics.

Comments

I love this song, but I don't want to critique it since I know it has changed a lot from the version here. When will you record this with the new lyrics? Sara 11:41, 28 March 2007 (PDT)
