the future

Lyrics

this year we'll cook for each other
and we'll lower the lights of our glowing computers

and write our lives like a story
and we string our hearts for a beautiful melody

and next year we'll be slightly more resolute
and the words that we speak will ring slightly more true

our earth it turns in a circle
and our plants they drink in our cloudy water
the the clouds they rain in their habit
and the dress you'll wear for now is a secret

sure the future is a secret it keeps all the beans
i think the parts i'll like best are about to begin

Songwriter Notes

this was inspired by gabe's short type songs. wrote this just now all at once in one sitting. still a work in progress. The ending doesn't sound right to me yet, and I'm a little unsure of the second verse. I think the heart string bit could be better. And I think that I want to say write our lives IN a story --not LIKE a story... anyway, still working on this...
