I really like this song a great deal.  I really like the chord voicings you're using and the rhythmic turnaround at the end of the verse pattern.  I love the snare on the way into the chorus, too.  Half-time beats rule, and the chorus is made really cool by virtue of that great beat.  It might be nice to put one of the changes in the chorus on an offbeat instead of having them all right on the beat.  I think if you write lyrics for it, you might find a cool place to do that.  Maybe have one hit later than you expect, on beat two instead of one?  I would love to hear vocals on this.  It's just really pretty.  It makes me kick myself for not being in a band with you where I make you finish these songs.  Let's do that.

Author's Notes

This is from right before Christmas last year. Once again, not sure where to take it...

Comments

The synth sound on this reminds me of Helicopter. I really like it. Nice beats. I've tried making beats in fruity loops, and I find it completely confounding. I hear a vocal part that sits between the piano bits in the verse, and comes in on the off beats of the chorus, in between the big chords.
