i recorded this in cold san francisco june into july, in my bedroom, on a dell inspiron 6000 using behringer eurorack something or other with a couple of channels and the all-powerful PHANTOM POWER. there are four guitar tracks, two clean and two big muffed, all recorded direct into the mixer, and two tracks of each vocal part, recorded with an incredibly shitty mic and a little too much gin. i'm going to re-do this song now that i have an sm57 and can actually play the chords.
there's one chord i can't figure out, which is shameful but true: the second pre-chorus chord, under the lines "i know it's not true" and "tell me it's not true." if anyone can figure it out and let me know, i'll mail you delicious vegan cookies.
i wrote it about that one love that sticks with you. i think i mean the person who was around when some parts of your personality or tastes got settled, so that you always think of them and maybe long for them.
i think this is the best song i ever wrote.
