the future

Lyrics

this year we'll cook for each other
and we'll lower the lights of our glowing computers

and write our lives like a story
and we string our hearts for a beautiful melody

and next year we'll be slightly more resolute
and the words that we speak will ring slightly more true

our earth it turns in a circle
and our plants they drink our cloudy water
the the clouds they rain in their habit
and the dress you'll wear for now is a secret

sure the future is a secret it keeps all the beans
i think the parts i like best are about to begin

Songwriter Notes

this was inspired by gabe's short type songs. wrote this just now all at once in one sitting. still a work in progress. The ending doesn't sound right to me yet, and I'm a little unsure of the second verse. I think the heart string bit could be better. And I think that I want to say write our lives IN a story --not LIKE a story... anyway, still working on this...

Possible alternate lyrics

The clouds they rain from the height of their orbit
The clouds they precess in their orbits
The future is a secret i can guess how it ends
