thy blind sky

Lyrics

i might peek through key holes
i might creep to you up close
i might peer through telescopes
that i might see you

in thy blind sky
shining with a
cataractous eye
whirling in the night
my how lovely a blight
i do love you

do you know me and if i were known
would you foresee things that i don't
or with empathy would you grow to see
that we're equals

for my clear sight
perceiving here
the manefested sky
circling my eyes
my how lovely a life
that i might see you

in thy blind sky
shining with your
cataractous eye
whirling in the night
my how lovely a blight
i do love you

i do love you

Songwriter Notes

i'm really liking this song now. i came up with the verse and chorus melody and chords together. to me they sounded pretty joyful, i wasn't sure what to write about. as i was taking a walk i started thinking of the sky as a giant eye, but one that was blinded, from there the rest of the chorus wrote it self. the verses came without too much trouble. when i first recorded i had lots of fuzzy distorted guitars on the chorus, but then i dropped them in favor of the low harmony which works much better. i'd like to do a cleaner recording of the vocals. my annunciation is awful and the three tracks of vocals aren't lined up well in the chorus section especially. in the verse parts, i'm saying slightly different words on the different tracks. kind of a sloppy job all around --which is too bad since i'm proud of the words here. especially "my how lovely a blight". i don't know about the dance beat at the end of the song yet. i like the idea of it, but i'm not sure its working. i think this would a good first song on an EP.
