Moon Over Nowhere (demo) - MP3

Lyrics

There's no town in the place where I stop
There's no out of the way little honkey-tonk bar
There's no signal or cross-street or stop sign
There's no sleazy motel you can rent by the hour

There's a moon over nowhere tonight
On a highway that nobody sees
There's a moon over nowhere tonight
Shine down on my baby and me

Chords

Verse G D G C G G D G C A D
Chorus C G C A D C G G D G

Comments

Gabe, this song needs your help. I was trying to write that "meeting you halfway" song but I just can't seem to write the verses and I don't like the 2nd and 4th lines of the chorus too much either. The general idea of the song should be that there is this couple who are separated geographically, meet for dates in the middle between their respective locations, which happens to be nowhere. It thought there could be a verse describing why they are separated (work, etc.), one describing what the girl does every Friday (watch the clock, put on some lipstick while pumping gas, "hightailing it north up the Lewiston grade"), and one conveying the sentiment that, although one day the couple hopes to be together all the time, for now meeting halfway seems to do the trick.
