Day Caper - MP3

Lyrics

My lyrics differ slightly from Chris's in several places. Can you find them all?

when we were driving last night
you overdrove the headlights
your knuckles were white and i liked it

when we were drinking last night
your were flooded with insight
your cheeks were red and i liked it

say what you want to say
your face said it anyway
oh yeah

so i go through reasons why not and why
but i know what it means to saw this limb we're out on

innocent
in the sense that our intentions were the best
but we just lost interest
you may not know this or you may not have noticed but
regret can wear a dress
she can sit here in the flesh
innocent

i was navigating a migrain
you leaned in and whispered
some sundays won't add up to much
you carved "be mine" into my valium
i replaced your lithium with chewing gum
we took the theraflu and spiked it
and we liked it

we were so out of it
it was so intimate
oh yeah

we were a plan that we could not implement
steady to stand but that's about it
not much to look at but killer to kiss is
all that it was and all it still is
tolerant
and recalcitrant
and about to make the same
the same mistakes again

innocent
in the sense that our intentions were the best
but we just lost interest
you may not know this or you may not have noticed but
regret can wear a dress
she can sit here in the flesh
you may not know this or you may not have noticed but
these arms can hold us still
but that doesn't mean they will

innocent

Cola Wars is an underrated band. This is my small tribute to their awesomeness. I took a few liberties just for fun, not because the original doesn't rule. Though the key change in the bridge really stuck in my craw when I was trying to do this, hence the vast harmonic departure of the transition from the bridge back into the chorus. Chris, Robert, MK, Paul, Nick: Thank you, I love you.
