Lyrics

obgleich
ich bin nur ein kleines Mädchen

Rough Translation of Lyrics

“The city is saved by a balloon, which consists of panties”

I am only a small girl
gives many things, which I do not get
How can you say I'm really a boy
You know, that you lie

You are only a futile man
How can you laugh at my dream
It flies to danger, it defeats danger
I know, that it exists

He discovers the truth
He forces you to believe it
He believes on you
Even if you do not believe him

He sees the beautiful women
and by arrow of the Amors one strikes
The women see it
and by arrow of the Amors are struck

He steals its panties
and forms a balloon thereby
It embarks itself after a search
in order to find its old friends

They terminate this terrible war
I am beside them
although
I am only a small girl
Gives many things, which I do not get

Author's Notes

this song is obviously about the adventures of baron munchausen. if you haven't seen it, please do so as soon as possible! one of the finest films ever made. i love it.

posting this here as a work in progress. not sure if it should be sung in german or translated into english, which is funnier.

i really want to write a song in german, to test the theory that german is a nice language to sing in. aside from nena and drinking songs i haven't really tried it. sam has this (drunken) theory that it's hard to make truly western rock music using latin languages, but that teutonic languages like english and german lend themselves to it. maybe i'll come up with something else auf deutsch and sing this one in translation.

also, obviously, this will aspire to stereo total when finished.
