come settle me my pilgrim

Lyrics

come settle me my pilgrim i'm unsettled and i'm unfulfilled
i swear it where merits prevail i've failed
come careful wear frailties with shell or scales

come constantly occurring blurry i'll be sure to sight
were i to see a shade i'll raise and surely dowse the blinds
then unlace my eyes
while we kiss riddle me this for i'm unsure what it is

my first is foremost legally
my second circles outwardly
my third leads all in victory
my fourth twice ends a nominee

my first is foremost legally
my second circles outwardly
my third leads all in victory
my fourth twice ends a nominee

come settle me my pilgrim i'm unsettled and i'm unfulfilled

Songwriter Notes

i wrote this riff a while ago, figured tonight was the right time to knock it out. i picked a beat that sounded ok, and slowed it down to half tempo, then recorded a couple tracks of the main riff followed by some punctuated guitar chords. for the words i did some free writing before settling on the first line "come settle me my pilgrim". i was scanning my bookshelf and saw the book pilgrim at tinker creek, one of my favorites. the chords on the bridge section are pretty random i think. they are G major, C major, Bflat minor, A major. the words there are a riddle i found on the internet, the answer is L-O-V-E.
