The Dancey Demo - MP3

Similar, earlier Dancey Demo - MP3

Lyrics

In any case, they should be at least partly about dancing, more than a smidge melodramatic, and about a romantic problem in a such a vague way as to be applicable to almost anyone's experience. I was thinking for the chorus (sung to the flangey synth line, which is just the melody demo):

'cuz it's mooorrrre
than a booooyy
caaaan take
dancin' alone,
dancin' alo-o-one

(etc, et al)

The harpsichord-ish synth line at the end is supposed to be "ba"s, "doo"s, or somesuch.

Author's Notes

The only "lock" part is the "chorus", which is the delay'd repeating synthy thing. The chords over that are Dm, F, Am (replaceable with Cmaj for notably triumphant lines), G. I'm not sure I really like the other two attempted parts, though - so any help with padding that chorus-y part into a real song would be appreciated. Especially since I'm a little out of my usual stylistic depth, here.

Comments

man, this chorus is hot! i dig the outro section, as well. i dig the organ-y voice that's doing something like C - A A - G. the thing i like most about it is something i was always drawn to in paraleisure stuff, namely, the unique sound you get with the combination of awesome rythm guitar sounds and beats.

have you considered some synthy pads anywhere? those are always good on dance tracks. atmosphere!

dude, continue to develop this one, it's got mega potentional, in my opinion.
