Do You Believe
Lyrics
And now that I am dying you have come To wait beside my bed I sink into the mattress you sit upon the edge And drag us both ahead What could have been accomplished left undone By weak and lazy hands I intended to do right when all I wrought was wrong I can no longer stand in the valley Do you believe that it’s all said and done And we’re just living out our fate Do you believe that in time we’ll become The people that we want to be It took such little breaths to speak the angry words And still they sink my chest And every lie and falsehood echoes in my mind And keeps me from my rest So bite your bottom lip if you should fall And cede the upper hand Learn to love another better than yourself And be the bigger man Until your ways are righteous And peaceful is your path through the valley of the shadow and Do you believe that it’s all said and done And we’re just living out our fate Do you believe that in time we’ll become The people that we want to be Look at me Do you believe that it’s all said and done And we’re just living out our fate Do you believe that in time we’ll become The people that we want to be

The music and lyrics in the chorus and some of the last verse are from a song that Conor wrote a long time ago and I don't know if he ever finished, but the tune has been sort of running through my head for the last eight years. I really liked it and wanted to finish it.
LOL, thank you for recording this. i had completely forgotten this. i know exactly what song this was from. i can't remember if i finished it, but i know i was writing it in 2001 when i first moved into greenwood... now that i think about it, i think it had something to do with blood of the lamb. i think i got the idea from a billy bragg tune of the mermaid ave record...Conorl 18:17, 25 October 2009 (PDT)
