Bicycle Day - Sing Song

This is the last song on what is probably my favorite album of all time, The Mandarin, by Bicycle Day. I have been avoiding trying to figure out their songs since 1) most of them are impossibly crazy 2) the parts are hard to make out and 3) I don't want to dissect the magic out of them, but I am going to play a special show at the end of March and want to cover one of the Bicycle Day tunes, and this is one of the simplest, and also one of my favorites. If I do a version worth recording, I'll record it.

Lyrics, as printed in the liner notes

oh! what a lonely night when you
bring out that candle from the street
oh! what a darkened night when you
wipe your feet
it's gonna be big it's gonna be small
it's gonna take up the whole bedroom wall
join us, join us

sing the songs that you know by heart
sing the songs that you know so well
sing the songs that you know
know by heart
and sing them for yourself

there was a lone cowboy
took to the road
shook his head and he
wrinkled his nose
now's the time
off with those clothes
up down and out below
join us, join us

ooooooooooh aaaaah
ooooooooooh aaaaah

sing the songs that you know by heart
sing the songs that you know so well
sing the songs that you know
know by heart
and sing them for yourself
