Lyrics
it was several years ago now oh that day you took my hand i haven't let it go did you notice? did you have that planned? movies in the afternoon for two the milk and cookies set a little bit of rain but the train knew just where i should get i called you from a payphone with the best two quarters i will ever spend <chorus:> if we strike it rich it doesn't even matter we already have the things we need a pair of pitter-patters beating back and forth at the same speed my cup runs over and over who could ask for more than you i admit you took me by surprise despite my so-called smarts what could i have done to have won this lottery of hearts? cereal for dinner because why go out into the cold our world was small and clean and its queen was something to behold you said "i can't stop thinking about you" and then you took me in your arms <chorus> <chorus>

notes
this is a little song i wrote for megan for the third anniversary of our first "date". it's definitely a little cheesy and cutesy, but she eats that stuff up. i'm not thrilled to death with all of the lyrics (i wrote it on a tight deadline, so i think the second verse could use some refinement), but there are some parts i like.
there will be a more radio-ready pop version coming soon. had to do a proof of concept first. Gabemcelwain 11:23, 11 November 2008 (PST)
